One of the most critical and stressful times for a family is when a member approaches the end of life. It’s a busy and demanding time when decisions and arrangements must be made that often test the family’s ability to agree and cooperate. Making matters worse, there’s a bewildering variety of choices to make and unfamiliar, high-stakes territory to navigate. Most importantly, the repercussions of what transpires during this transition period ripple out and affect not only the living, but generations to come.
Given all that hangs in the balance, it’s surprising that most of us are woefully under-prepared to navigate this critical time. As with so many areas of life, knowledge and preparation can make all the difference. Thankfully, there are people who care, and who can help.
Watch this webinar with special guest Rev. Dr. Libby T. Boatwright, BCC, PCHAC, CFP author of the new book, The Last Things We Talk About. Libby knows this territory intimately, and has essential insights and lessons to share. She’s a board-certified palliative care chaplain, having assisted hundreds of patients and families through end-of-life transitions at Stanford Health Care. She’s also served as an Associate Pastor and holds the Certified Financial Planner credential. As a personal friend over the past 35 years, I have been witness to her deep caring and incredibly generous spirit.
